Joe Lynch never left Arcane – he was always there and didn’t turn up as the Brothers were shutting down the place...” and we have him in that Irish midland newspaper aged 23 and again in 1969 at Shannon Airport – he conducted the Band in NYC and Boston and also at Cork City Hall throughout the 60’s and in Limerick, Belfast, Newry, Dungannon, Coalisland, Belfast, Dublin, and half-a-hundred other places in between.
The lie about Lynch being in another place far away from Artane right through the 1960’s is a calculated lie to distance Lynch from the regime of abuse that thrived there. But as a personal witness to the truth I damn the likes of Noel Strong who push the lies for Lynch even after his death.

I’m enclosing a scanned article from an Irish midlands newspaper from the early 1960’s about a series of concerts in Portlaoise which, according to the piece, “ were a great success both artistically and financially – Portlaoise will never be same again...” it went on...Joe Lynch was the conductor and is said to be 23 years old at the time so we can back track the actual year of the article from his death in 2011 when it was reported he was 65 years old
It’s important to put the lie to that outrageous press report from November 2011 when it was said :-
“And then, with his qualifications secured, he did a most unlikely thing. In the late 1960s he returned to Artane, the scene of so much suffering, as musical director. Why? Noel Strong muses: "I don't think he ever really left Artane." As he arrived, the Brothers were shutting down the school and the last pupils were about to leave. It seemed the band was at an end.”
